OIFF

The Ottawa Rock Lottery was approached by the Ottawa International Film Festival in Spring of 2011 to partner with them for their Music Video Challenge.  In August 2011, organizer Samantha Everts hosted the screenings and acted as a liason between the filmmaking and music communities.  Since then the friendship developed between the film festival and Rock Lotto has been beneficial to both parties.   Rock Lotto supported OIFF with any sort of means possible in the past months after the festival.

In December 2011, the OIFF has partnered again with Rock Lotto to present the Ottawa Filmmaker’s Spotlight Series with a screening of the documentary “The Ottawa Rock Lottery.”  They raised about $400 for the Ottawa Food Bank with proceed from the DVD sales.

In January 2012, Ottawa Rock Lottery took a step up from regular sponsorship of the 72 Hour Film Challenge and became the music supervisor.  Everts worked with 5  local artists and bands to provide the soundtrack of the 23 short films, with some to be screened nationally on CBC Television.

They look forward to partnering together again for future events.
